To acknowledge the contribution of Pakistani literati, Pakistan Academy of Letters gives awards and honors to writers every year for promotion of quality literature in Pakistan. These honors are of two types: (i) the Kamāl-i Fann Award given on lifetime achievement; and (ii) the National Literary Award given to best books of different categories.
