

Islamabad; April 23, 2026: On the occasion of World Book Day, a prestigious and purposeful event was jointly organized by China Media Group and the National Language Promotion Department, attended by Prof. Dr. Najeeba Arif, Chairperson of Pakistan Academy of Letters. The event focused on promoting cultural harmony, academic exchanges, and book friendship in connection with the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. Detailed discussions were held on various aspects of the long-standing relations, mutual trust, and shared development of the two countries.
Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture Division, Farrukh Naz Akbar, stated in her address that a book is the best guide for a human and an effective means of intellectual training. She emphasized that the evergreen Pakistan-China friendship can be effectively transferred to the younger generation through books and academic activities.
Chief Guest Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed eloquently presented the successful and cooperative story spanning seven decades of Pak-China relations, urging the youth to learn from this historic friendship.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, DG of the National Language Promotion Department, termed the promotion of literary and cultural ties an important means to deepen Pak-China friendship.
Chairperson PAL Dr. Najeeba Arif emphasized the need to further activate academic dialogue and mutual ties among the youth, adding that Pakistan can achieve new opportunities for development by learning from China's experiences.
