The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and the Vietnam Writers’ Association (VWA) formalized their literary cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 15 October 2024. The MoU encompasses writer exchanges, joint literary events, translations, publications, training initiatives, online collaboration, and literary awards, with a renewable tenure of five years. Earlier, during 1996–1998, PAL published a six-volume international edition of Adabiyat, featuring literary works from ASEAN countries, including Vietnam. Further strengthening this literary bond, the Prison Diary of Vietnam’s former President Ho Chi Minh, celebrated for its revolutionary spirit and poetic expression, was presented to PAL for publication, while the Vietnam Writers’ Association is currently translating An Anthology of Pakistani Urdu Short Stories.
