PAL with Belarus / National Academy of Sciences of Belarus The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on 10 August 2015, thereby establishing formal cooperation in the field of literature. The MoU was signed for a period of five years and expired in August 2020. In connection to that MoU, PAL has remained actively engaged in cultural and literary exchanges, notably through its participation in the XXIII and XXIV International Book Exhibition, Fair, and Seminar held in Minsk in 2016 and 2017. In the same year, the works of Pakistani female poets were translated by Mr. Ales Brazhunou and published in the esteemed Belarusian literary journal Polymia. Furthermore, PAL introduced the works of Nobel Laureate Svetlana Alexievich to Pakistani readers by publishing translations in its quarterly journal Adbiyaat, thereby further consolidating the literary ties between the two countries.
