Mr. Sultan M. Nawaz Nasir

Mr. Sultan M. Nawaz Nasir is the present Director General of Pakistan Academy of Letters. He is a civil servant from 34th CTP with an experience spanning over 20 years. He did his MA English from NUML Islamabad, MBA from IBA Karachi, MA Islamic Studies from Punjab University Lahore, MPhil English Literature from QUSIT Peshawar, and HH Humphrey Fellowship from Syracuse University, New York, USA. He has attended various trainings, seminars, and conferences in Pakistan, China, and USA.
Under the pen-name of Sultan Nasir, he is a man of letters also. A collection of his Urdu poems titled Kahin Nahin was published in 2020. He has authored three biographies: Shaheed-e-Ishq (2013), Seerat-e-Noor (2016), and the Abbasin Award-winning Khaza’in-e-Faqr (2021). Moreover, he has compiled poetry works of Syed Mubarik Shah (2017), and has penned two research dissertations on Joseph Conrad’s novel Heart of Darkness. His articles on art, literature, culture, Sufi thought, and literary criticism have been published in newspapers and journals.
